When you defeat an opponent in battle and manage to win that battle, you gain XP based on the Ascension LV of your character and the type of enemy you fought. The XP you receive goes towards your Ascension Progress listed on your character data, and as soon as that progress reaches 100%, your character Ascends, and your level increases.
Ascension is almost like a form of evolution for Half-bloods. When you ascend, your appearance changes slightly and your stats increase by 50 each (100 for HP). You also get to add 10 to two stats of your choice, or 20 to just one (remember that anything put towards HP is doubled). When you reach Ascension LV reaches 10, the stat changes increase to 100 (200 for HP) and the independent boosts increase to 20 to two stats, or 40 to one.
